Situated on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, Greek Eats is an elevated casual eatery that maximizes its small footprint by utilizing natural daylight and variations of seating areas. The service counter was carefully considered to allow for queuing, menu gazing, and sufficient space for service in tandem with take-out and delivery activity. The guiding strategy was to design two “rooms” within the space: the front room is light and airy with a more casual feel, and the back room with a more intimate dining feel end-capped with an art feature wall of demijohns filled with different varieties of olive oil. Wood banquettes create a tertiary seating zone, a favorite of patrons due to the high backs of the seats creating an increased feeling of privacy.
