Located on a prominent slopeside property within Mountain Village, this project consists of an extensive tear-down and new construction of a single-family residence over the previous foundation. Sited on a northern ridgeline, window and door openings frame both intimate and expansive views of the near and far landscapes. Along the south, a two-story glazed atrium flanked by multiple tiered decks, capture vistas of Telluride Resort and the mountains beyond, including Sunshine Mountain and Wilson Peak. In optimizing the thermal envelope, tailoring the whole-building energy demand, utilizing a high-efficiency electric heat-pump and inclusion of solar panels, the projected qualified as net-zero in its final HERS rating.
